Goals of the Club

The primary goal of CWONC is to contribute to the betterment of our community. GFWC (General Federation of Women's Clubs) encourages all member clubs to participate in one or all of the following six suggested service departments. Club projects vary year to year depending on the interests of the members.

ARTS-projects dealing with art, music, theater, home arts, literature, creative writing, historical societies, crafts.

CONSERVATION- projects related to hazardous waste disposal, graffiti clean up, water and air pollution, reforestation, beautification, fire prevention, anti-litter campaigns, wild life preservation, trash recycling.

EDUCATION- projects dealing with scholarships, nutrition education, libraries, aid to schools, reading programs, adopt-a-teacher, teacher/school appreciations.

HOMELIFE- projects related to food and clothing drives, Interfaith Crisis Centers, homeless centers, blood drives, youth sport programs, mental health projects, substance abuse programs, counseling programs, volunteering at hospitals.

INTERNATIONAL AFFAIRS- projects dealing with Unicef, Save the Children, Project Concern, foreign exchange student hosts, Olympic games.

PUBLIC AFFAIRS-projects related to crime prevention, child abuse and alert programs, neighborhood watch, disaster relief and preparedness, bicycle safety, candidate forums.
