Scleroderma Research Foundation

What it is…

Mission: To find a cure for Scleroderma, a life-threatening and degenerative illness, by funding and facilitating the most promising, highest quality research and placing the disease and its need for a cure in the public eye.
What is Scleroderma? Scleroderma literally means “hard skin”. It is a chronic, degenerative disorder that leads to the overproduction of collagen in the body’s connective tissue. Scleroderma is most serious when it affects internal organs, causing severe damage and serious complications to the body’s digestive, respiratory, circulatory and immune systems. 500,000 Americans have Scleroderma, 80% of who are women.

Volunteer opportunities…

GFWC-CWONC makes an annual donation to the Scleroderma Foundation.
