What it is…
There are two events associated to the San Diego Fair (held in Del Mar) that
CWONC participates in. First, we assist as Student Showcase Clerks helping
the Judges compile scores for student submitted art, which occurs prior to
the fair opening. After the Fair gets started we also assist with Blue
Ribbon Judging, helping to evaluate Fair employee’s customer service
abilities. GFWC-CWONC is paid a small amount for our help on both items, and
members also receive free tickets into the Fair.

Volunteer opportunities…
The clerking for the Student Showcase is a very flexible day the usually
runs from 8am to 3pm and occurs the first Sunday of June. Once the Fair gets
started Blue Ribbon Judging can occur any time, and normally takes about 2
hours, and then people are free to enjoy the fair.
Student Showcase Photography
We will be clerking for the Student Showcase Photography
Judges on Saturday, June 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. We need 20
volunteers, over 18 years of age, to help out. Please RSVP to
Ann
Lygas. CWONC will be paid $6.75/hour for each person. You may bring your
spouse, significant other, friend, co-worker, and neighbor to help out! This
is a great fundraiser for club, so please help us out by signing up.
Blue Ribbon
Judging
We also need Blue Ribbon judges to work while the Fair is in
progress. Ann needs to let the volunteer coordinator know the names of those
who wish to judge Fair workers and get a free ticket into the Fair. CWONC
will be paid $6.75/hour for 2 hours of your time. It only takes 1 hour to
evaluate 10 Fair workers, the rest of the time is yours to enjoy at the
Fair. The more sign-ups we have, the more money we raise. Your friends,
family, neighbors and co-workers are welcome to help us out here. |
